PaceLink Go - Terms of Use
Last Updated: September 4, 2026
These terms describe the use of PaceLink Go ("the App") and its group-trip service, provided by Daniel Szlaski. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy. The App's software license is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, unless a separate custom license is supplied through the App Store.
1. What PaceLink Go Does
The App helps people travelling together see their relative positions and estimated distance and time gaps. It works alongside your chosen navigation app. It is not a turn-by-turn navigation service, emergency service, safety system, or a guarantee of another person's location or wellbeing.
2. Safe and Responsible Use
Set up trips and invitations before driving. Operate the App only when it is safe and lawful to do so; stop safely or ask a passenger to help. Never speed, change lanes, or alter your driving to match a displayed gap. Follow road signs, traffic laws, and the conditions around you.
Use the App only with people who choose to participate. Do not use it for covert tracking, stalking, harassment, impersonation, or any unlawful purpose. Do not bypass access controls, misuse invitation credentials, interfere with the service, attempt to reuse a consumed purchase, or manipulate device credentials or requests to claim the same welcome allowance repeatedly.
3. Trips and Invitations
No account is required. Choose a display name and create or join a trip using an invitation link or code. Trips support up to five participants. Anyone with a working invitation can attempt to join, so keep invitations within your group.
Joining a trip shares your display name and live trip information with its participants. You may leave at any time, and the host may end the trip for everyone. Trips also expire automatically. An internet connection is needed for the server to receive a leave or end request. Retention and deletion timing are explained in the Privacy Policy.
4. Welcome Trips and Optional Purchases
Joining is free. The current version offers hosts two welcome trips of up to 12 hours each per recognized device. Eligibility is checked using Apple's device verification services and our persistent pseudonymous allowance record, as described in the Privacy Policy. The allowance is not renewed by deleting and reinstalling the App. After the allowance is used, a consumable 24-hour Trip Pass is required to host a new trip. A host can also purchase a pass to add 24 hours to a trip that is still active. The trip's running period begins when its first guest joins; an unused invitation can expire. Creating a welcome-trip invitation consumes one free credit even if nobody joins; ending early does not restore it.
Free hosting requires successful device verification and a current compatible app version. A verification failure is not confirmation that the allowance has been used. You can retry or contact support; joining and independently verified paid hosting remain available. If device recovery credentials are lost, unused credits may not be recoverable. Contact us if eligibility appears incorrect or you acquired a previously used device. We review such requests without guaranteeing that a reinstall, reset, or change of ownership creates a new allowance.
Trip Passes are one-time purchases, not auto-renewing subscriptions. Each verified purchase can be consumed once. Ending a trip early does not turn a consumed pass into a reusable credit. The current price, currency, and purchase details are displayed by the App Store before you confirm.
Apple handles payment. Refund requests are handled through Apple's purchase support process, subject to applicable law. If a purchase succeeds but the App cannot apply it, contact us for help. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory refund or consumer rights.
5. Requirements and Availability
The App requires a compatible iPhone running iOS 26 or later, location permission, and internet access. Background updates require appropriate location permission. Live Activities, Dynamic Island, and CarPlay availability depend on your device, vehicle, system settings, and Apple's platform support.
GPS errors, poor reception, battery-saving settings, system limits, outages, or other participants' settings may delay, interrupt, or make information inaccurate. Distance and time gaps are estimates. We cannot promise continuous availability or error-free results. Your carrier's data charges may apply.
6. Local History, Device Records, and Privacy
Past-trip summaries are saved locally and do not contain a GPS route. Deleting the App may remove your local summaries and preferences. We do not provide a server history archive or recovery service for these summaries. The Privacy Policy explains the information processed during trips, persistent device identifiers and verification records, free-trip balances, retained purchase records, aggregate and per-device usage counts, retention periods, and your rights. Uninstalling does not automatically delete server records, Apple's eligibility marker, or credentials that survive in Keychain.
7. Changes, Service Restrictions, and Consumer Rights
We may update the App or restrict misuse to maintain and protect the service. Material changes to these terms will be reflected on this page with a revised date. Changes will not remove rights that apply to purchases already made. You may stop using the App at any time.
Applicable mandatory law and consumer protections remain in force, including rights relating to faulty digital content or services. These terms do not exclude liability or remedies where doing so would be unlawful. The software license and its applicable limitations are described in the Apple license linked above.
