Glance for Solis - Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile application Glance for Solis ("the App"), developed by Daniel Szlaski ("we", "us", or "our"), handles information when you use the App. Glance for Solis is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Glance for Solis is an unofficial third-party companion app for SolisCloud users. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Ginlong Technologies or Solis.

1. Information We Collect

Glance for Solis does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to us or to any third party. The App has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Everything you enter stays on your device.

2. SolisCloud Credentials

To display data from your solar system, the App requires SolisCloud credentials (such as your SolisCloud API key and secret). These credentials are stored exclusively on your device using the iOS Keychain and are never transmitted to us or to any third party. The App communicates directly with the SolisCloud API from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac - there is no middle server operated by us. SolisCloud's handling of your data is governed by Ginlong's own privacy policy.

3. Widgets

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read live PV output and battery state-of-charge directly from SolisCloud using the credentials stored on your device. Widget data is rendered on your device and is not transmitted to us. Last-update timestamps shown on widgets reflect when your device last fetched data from SolisCloud.

4. In-App Purchases

Glance for Solis offers a single one-time in-app purchase that unlocks live auto-refresh across every widget size. Without this purchase, widgets still install and display your system, but data remains frozen at the point it was first loaded.

The in-app purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store in-app purchase system. We do not collect or store any payment information such as credit card numbers or billing addresses. Apple handles all billing and payment processing, and we receive only the transaction identifier and entitlement status needed to unlock the live-refresh feature on your device. Apple's handling of payment data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Third-Party Services

Glance for Solis does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The App is built entirely with native Apple frameworks. The only external service the App communicates with is the official SolisCloud API, using the credentials you provide, to fetch your own solar system data.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties, because we do not receive any of your data in the first place. All information processed by Glance for Solis stays on your device.

7. Data Retention

SolisCloud credentials and app preferences are stored on your device for as long as the App is installed. Deleting the App removes this data. In-app purchase entitlements are managed by Apple and restored through your Apple ID.

8. Children's Privacy

Glance for Solis does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. The App collects no personal data at all.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
